Real Virtualities
In this course, several relevant philosophies are introduced in order to analyse the relationship between older media (e.g. photography, film and television) and new media (e.g. telepresence, augmented reality).
Transformations in Digital Cultures
This course focuses on recent transformations in the contemporary media landscape. It investigates the digitalisation of society and the consequences of certain developments in digital technologies and cultures.
Design Thinking & Maker Culture
This course provides an introduction to theories and methods of Design Thinking and Maker Culture. Design thinking focuses on what is desirable from a human point of view and combines this with technological feasibility and economic viability.
Machines of Knowledge
This course explores the transformation of the World Wide Web from an informational space to a place that consists of a series of dynamic knowledge websites. It analyses how a new approach to generating web content might change user expectations and practices.
