Before I started to create my blog, I already knew that I wanted my website to look clean and sleek. I did not want to incorporate too many colours and — if I would do so — I wanted the colour palette of this website to be as soft, calm and neutral as possible. I also wanted my blog to be easily accessible, dynamic and not too difficult to navigate through. The picture below shows a wireframe design of the type of blog that I had in mind:
The theme that I have chosen is called “Unos Publisher.” This theme provided me with a very clean and elegant look which was simplistic and easy on the eye. This theme also provided me with enough options to make the website dynamic and engaging: I was able to incorporate a smart slider in the Home” section and I’ve also added some flip boxes in the “Courses” section.
Although my original plan was to have a sidebar on all the pages of my website, I have now decided that I’d like to keep my Home-page a little cleaner. Therefore, I’m currently trying to figure out how to leave out the sidebar-widget from the Home-page only, whilst still incorporating it on the other pages of my blog.
All in all, this theme as been very accessible and easy to work with. I’m excited to further explore it and to develop my website!
