If you’ve seen enough of St. Pietersberg, there’s a beautiful botanical garden in Leuven that will make your noses itchy but your hearts full 🪻🌳🌷🌞 Also, Groot Begijnhof (as featured in the first and last picture) functioned as a beguinage for unmarried women from the early 13th century 🏡 The last Beguine passed away in 1988, and apparently the last priest of the community turned 107 years old - makes you wonder whether it is the good will of god or women that keep the spirits up, eh? Today was the day of all days: We went to @centrec Today was the day of all days: We went to @centreceramique to take our actual photos for creating our digital 3D models (not just for practice - we’re professionals now). In this funky series, you can see our journey of capturing a real Bartman jug from the 16th-17th century. Coincidentally - it has its origins in Germany, so Mara and I felt connected. Also, extending its original purpose of carrying goods for transport, Bartman jugs were used as protection from witchcraft, and people would put their hair and fingernails (and other fancy stuff) in there and build them into the walls of their homes.
