“Kwestie van geduld” and it’s symbolism for Limburgish culture

The rural landscape of the South part of Limburg, Netherlands, with hilly meadowlands

If you say the aforementioned three words in Limburg, chances are that people will answer with: “Rustig wachten op d’n daag!”. These are the lyrics of the song “Limburg” by Rowwen Hèze, a Limburgish band who mostly express themselves in Limburgs in their songs. Within this particular song, the band makes it no secret that they hope that one day, all of Holland will speak Limburgish. The song itself is not meant to be criticising anything that’s Dutch: in fact, they are more or less showing their affection for Limburgish rather than making a protest that all of the Netherlands should speak Limburgish.

The band comes from the northern part of Limburg and, mentioned before, their discography mainly consists of Limburgish songs.
