For this blog assignment we invite you to choose a media example in one of the European minority languages (IML or RML). You can also take a non-European example if you think it is relevant for the European audience, Please address the following questions in your discussion:
- what kind of audience is aimed at?
- which organization is behind it, is it an example of top-down or bottom-up media policies (Kelly-Holmes e.a)
- if possible, refer in your description to the concepts of ‘endangered language’, ‘language maintenance’ and ‘reversing language shift’ (see the schedule in assignment 8)do you think this media is efficient or would you have suggestions for improvement?
- what is your personal opinion on the media example?
Write a blog entry of around 500-700 words, don’t forget one or two pictures and indicate of course the link to the relevant website.
